APN Membership

APN aspires to be a true cooperative, democratically-run and managed by its members. As a member, if you have any questions or concerns about how the organization is run, you will have the chance to put your concerns before the other members and potentially change how APN operates.

For example:

  • Should APN endorse political candidates?
  • Should APN sell advertisements or instead rely solely on member contributions?
  • What types of news should APN cover?
  • Have a role in crafting APN’s mission statement and editorial policies.

APN members have decided in the past that we will NOT endorse political candidates and will focus almost entirely on local news and elections.
