Carol Myers is the former Dean of General Education at Athens Tech. She is running for Athens-Clarke County commission for district 8 in 2020.

The “Greening” of Athens — Myers has been active in 100% Athens, a group who successfully pushed the commission to formally adopt a resolution in favor of 100% clean energy by 2035. Her platform includes transitioning the ACC government away from fossil fuels by 2035, and the rest of Athens by 2050.
Alternative Transportation — Myers’ platform includes support for complete streets throughout Athens (including sidewalks and bike lanes) and an improved bus system, with the goal to reduce traffic fatalities to zero.
As of April 30, Myers had raised $12,966 in total and had $6,217 on hand.
In addition to her activism in 100% Athens, Carol Myers served on the SPLOST 2005 and SPLOST 2011 Citizen’s Advisory Committee. She has worked with Complete Streets Athens, serves on the board of Bike Athens and is the chair of the Athens in Motion Commission. She is recently retired from her role as Dean of General Education at Athens Tech, where she worked for 30 years, mostly as a faculty member.
