Signature Issues

Driving economic growth – Small business development is one of Malcolm’s main priorities, which she believes is just as important for job growth as bringing in larger businesses from out of town. She also wants to invest more in infrastructure for District 6, such as better stormwater control and more transportation options.

Public safety – Malcolm wants to promote better cooperation between law enforcement and the community. She wants to improve citizen engagement and address the rise of gangs and gun violence.

Experience

Malcolm is the owner of Rashe’s Cuisine, a Jamaican restaurant. She is the founding director of two Athens-area nonprofits: Farm to Neighborhood and the Culinary Kitchen of Athens. At the time of her election, she was the chair of the ACC Industrial Development Authority and a board member of the Athens-Area Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the east Athens TAD committee. She had never run for public office before.
