Devon Spiva is a UGA student (3rd year Political Science major). He was running for commission in district 10, but decided not to qualify.
Signature Issues
Transparency – Spiva had promised “no more secretive settlements or rushed votes,” likely referring to the Taylor Saulters settlement.
Affordable Housing – Spiva wanted to change zoning laws to allow for tiny houses of less than 1000 sq ft. and other low-cost housing units.
Opposition to Property Taxes – He wanted to freeze property taxes and use “other sources of funding” instead.

As of January 31, Spiva had raised $2,081 in total and had $1,431 on hand.

Spiva has been active in both the UGA College Republicans and the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement.
