Signature Issues
Medicare for All – Ted Terry supports a single-payer, universal healthcare system.
Living Wages – Ted supports a federal $15 / hour minimum wage, including tipped workers. He supports a long phase-in period to give small businesses time to adjust, and then indexing the wage to inflation.
Investing in Rural Georgia – Ted would use the Green New Deal as a way of investing in rural Georgia, expanding solar energy and creating jobs.
Experience
Ted has been mayor of Clarkston, GA since 2014. As mayor, he has enacted a strong progressive agenda, including decriminalization of cannabis, a $15 / hour minimum wage for city employees, 100% clean energy by 2050, participatory budgeting and welcoming refugees and other immigrants.
He has also been the Director of the Georgia Sierra Club chapter until stepping down to focus on his campaign for Senate. He has suspended his campaign and is now running for county commission in DeKalb.
